YOUNTVILLE BOOKMARK STORY CONTEST
Ever written a poem or story that would fit on a bookmark? Interested in doing so? The Bookmark Coalition is looking for the five best stories that will be printed on Library Bookmarks and distributed to the public. There also will be a prize to each of the five winners.
Each writer must be a Napa County resident and can submit two unpublished stories, either in prose or poetry format, with a limit of 60 words per story. Each submission must have a title and may not include any profanity or disparaging remarks. Please do not put your name on the uploaded document.
Submissions will undergo a blind review and the best five chosen. Winners (3 adults, 2 youth) will receive a $100 prize and their story will be printed on bookmarks distributed through county libraries.
Discussions about ‘How To Write a Bookmark Story' will be held on March 25th from 10-11:30, Board Room, Yountville Comm Center & April 8th from 4-5:30 pm at the Napa Library, Lifeworks Room. Bookmark Celebration & Awards will be held Thursday, Sept. 25th, Heritage Room.
The Bookmark Stories Contest is a collaboration between the Yountville Library, Friends of the Yountville Library, and the Yountville Arts Commission. Submissions will be accepted starting April 7 and are due by June 20, 2025. Winners will be announced on September 25 at the Bookmark Stories Celebration.
